Planting trees is important, but it is only part of the answer to climate change. In Plant-for-the-Planet, we have found a long-term cooperation partner who literally gets to the root of the issue and with whom we can make a real contribution to climate justice that goes beyond tree planting campaigns. The globally active organization works on ecosystem restoration, environmental education, facilitating access through technology and continuous development through research. Reforestation
At the heart of Plant-for-the-Planet is the work on regrowing ecosystems and intergenerational solutions to the climate crisis. An important component of this is to increase the global forest area by a third without affecting agricultural land. The project shows how easy it is to efficiently restore forest ecosystems, grasslands and peat bogs on a large scale and protect them in the long term. We were particularly impressed by the fact that the commitment does not end here. The initiators think outside the box and, above all, for the long term. In addition to global tree planting campaigns, the organization relies on three other indispensable pillars on the road to a sustainable future.

Training of ambassadors
The world is what we make of it. And the best way to do that is together - no matter how young or old we are. Climate change affects us all, but especially our future generations, for whom our planet should continue to be a place worth living in. That's why we wholeheartedly support Plant-for-the-Planet in inspiring young people to peacefully use their voice for a sustainable future. We are thrilled to see that almost 100,000 children and young people worldwide have trained each other to become ambassadors for climate justice at our partner's more than 1,750 academies.

Platform and IT
As a digitalization partner, we are convinced of the positive impact of digital solutions. But what does a reforestation project have to do with IT? Quite a lot. Especially when, as with Plant-for-the-Planet, it's not just about planting trees, but about discovering new, sustainable horizons. Our partner uses intelligent software solutions to promote optimal planting, tracking and fire prevention in planted forests - and makes them available free of charge. A great commitment that shows how technology and nature go hand in hand and receives our full support.

Research
We are united with Plant-for-the-Planet by the conviction that we should not stand still, but work together to make a difference. In collaboration with leading research institutes and experts, the organization drives the research and development of ecosystems. This includes, for example, investigations into which tree species are best suited to different climate zones. The scientific findings are disseminated globally and continuous improvement is promoted through quality standards.
