Things you might have missed

Today, we want to focus on COSMO Environmental Services - COSMO CONSULT’s leading solution for the recycling, waste management and reverse logistics industries. With Dynamics 365 for Finance & Supply chain management at its core, Microsoft provides the foundation with enterprise grade functionality for finance, inventory management, production, quality assurance and asset maintenance - to name a few. In addition, COSMO Environmental Services adds industry specific abilities including contract management, work order management, transport planning and weighbridge.

This is already a strong package, but did you know that COSMO CONSULT provided eight releases in 2021? Each release brought improvements and new features to new and existing customers, making the platform even stronger. Here are 5 things from the releases that you might have missed in 2021.

Are you handling responsible for handling Contracts or for collection or disposal? Do you want to ensure the right items or services are selected for service execution? You can now define what items or services are mandatory, suggested or optional during order execution. We have also made setting up recurring collections easier by improving template support for scheduled services.  

Are you working with Containers or other types of mobile assets? We have recently introduced a new Container and Asset rental capability to COSMO Environmental Services. While this functionality is currently in preview, we are already delivering improvements in early 2022. So watch out for the next versions of COSMO Environmental Services for even more capabilities. 

For users working around Hazardous waste, we introduced new translation capabilities for transporting hazardous waste by providing ADR information in multiple languages. This in particular helps companies shipping hazardous waste across borders. We have also introduced the ability to restrict products on inventory locations, ensuring users can only accept waste streams at locations where you are licensed to do so.

Transport planning services have also been upgraded by the addition of several user experience improvements to transport planning. This makes creating, activating and cancelling routes easier, especially when updating large amounts of data at once.

For Production planners and operators, Recycling orders has been introduced which is a new way to quickly capture the results of your recycling and processing operations. This new feature set reduces the effort commonly required to run production and works seamlessly with Microsoft Power Apps to enable mobile scenarios out in the yard. While this feature is currently in preview, it is already available to all customers and partners to try out.
