For German IT decision makers, one thing is clear: 89 percent prefer cloud offerings from Germany. This was the result of a recent survey of IT security professionals Bitdefender. The IT managers’ preferences led Microsoft to start running multiple data centers in Germany: the “Deutschland-Cloud”. Data that is stored in it cannot leave the country. In addition to this, Deutsche Telekom as a trustee ensures that Microsoft does not forward any information to third parties. Sensitive business data is thus also protected against access by foreign authorities.

The “Deutschland-Cloud” went live in Germany at the beginning of the year. So far, however, only for Office 365 and Microsoft Azure. Now, the “Deutschland-Cloud” has been expanded to include the cloud-based ERP-system Microsoft Dynamics 365 for enterprise - even if it does not yet support all functions. In a first step, the following apps are available starting in June 2017:

  • Sales
  • Customer Services
  • Field Services and
  • Project Services

In addition to this, there are the Power Apps and Microsoft Flow. This corresponds to the previous Service Plan 1.
