Public, private or hybrid – Which Cloud solution is the right one for your company?

Cloud solutions are a dime a dozen. So how do you decide which one is the best fit for your business?

Whichever way you look at it: Nowadays there's no getting away from the Cloud. And that should come as no surprise, as the Cloud brings with it a large number of advantages. It is an alternative way to offer IT services that increase flexibility whilst lowering costs. If you add Cloud functionalities to your ERP system, you will be able to map out holistic solution scenarios. More and more software packages are based on Cloud services.

A good concept

If you'd also like to surf the Cloud wave, then we have good news for you: Don't worry about losing control. Because there's a perfect Cloud solution for every company. Provided that you have a good concept for getting started. And we can show you how to do this.

What kinds of Cloud are available?

There are three different variants of Cloud computing. First, establish which version is the best fit for your business.

Public Cloud

The public Cloud is freely accessible by all on the Internet. Although this Cloud variant is of course more efficient in terms of shared resources, it is less secure than a private Cloud.

Hybrid Cloud

The hybrid Cloud combines the best of both worlds. It comprises both public and private components, even with several providers. A transition to the hybrid Cloud allows you to choose the most efficient solution for every business area. For example, your company's security-related core data is better off in the private Cloud, whilst less sensitive areas such as customer service can be hosted cost-efficiently via the public Cloud.

Think big – start small

Which Cloud variant fits your business best? To find out, you need a plan. The motto here is "think big – start small", as one of the best aspects of the Cloud is its flexibility. There really is no need to turn your entire IT infrastructure upside down. Take it slowly and choose a plan with many small steps. By doing so, you can maintain control over pace and priorities - and still obtain significant results. Ask yourself the following questions:

Where do I stand?

Before getting started, it's important to make a thorough inventory. This inventory needs to take all relevant factors into account. These include, for example, the type of business, the location (is your internet connection fast enough?) or the age of the existing systems [link to Digital Transformation Check]

How do I get started?

Clarify where services can be outsourced with the least amount of effort and investment. This is where you should begin. Determine whether a trip has more of

  • a field service connection or
  • a business intelligence direction using interactive dashboards.

Or are you already further down the road and

•    would like artificial intelligence or
•    technologies from the Internet of Things (IoT)?

Are you looking for a flexible solution to help you respond quickly to seasonal peaks, when more jobs are suddenly needed? Or would you like to host and offer your own services on the Cloud?
